Default THE NOISE CONTIUES

whats up ok i was at glamis and my air filter fell off and sand got all over in the motor then the rings went out and made a rattling noise then we got home went to the motocycle shop got rings for it and now the damn thing still makes the noise of the rings rattling what should i do. HELP HELP HELP HELP HELP HELP HELP HELP HELP. THANX

Was the piston replaced also? If not, you could be hearing the piston slapping against the cylinder. Also, I thought I had this problem with my R, it ended up being the lower rod bearing. If you are capable, pull the head, look at the piston and check for any play in the cylinder. If that is tight, pull the cylinder and check the lower rod bearing. You should feel no side to side or up and down slop. If there is a small amount of play, that's OK, but if you can move the rod side to side enough that it hits the crank halves, you need a new crank, or new rod pressed on. What kind of bike is this anyway? You should pick up a chiltons manual for it, they come in very handy!!!
