I just bought one and really like how it runs. I look forward to many hours of enjoyment on it. I traded My 02 500 HO for it and I wanted to be rid of the front hubs and seals.

I have had my 05 efi for about 2 month and have about 350 miles on it. It is a great machine. I don't think I will ever buy anything but Polaris again.

I've got a 05 700EFI, and it's a large step up from the 04.5 700EFI I had. More storage, better lights, better racks, better ride, IMO better looks, much better OEM tires, and much more. I was even really impressed with the side panel design LOL. If you have owned a 04 and down you know what I'm talking about. Another thing I like is I can now get in a little mud and not look like I was pushing a tractor out of a mud hole, the new design does a really good job of keeping you clean vs. the 04s and down. I love my 05!

I love the new design. The only thing I dont like is the chatter in clutch area when going along easy. I heard they all do it and not to worry. One thing I have noticed and hope it is just the belt getting seated is that in low range when I am going slow as over obstacles or steep hill I smell what appears to be burning rubber, it is faint but noticeable. I have noticed it in High as well. Anyone else notice this?

Thanks

Steve2004,
I've had my 05 700 EFI for about 6 weeks now, and abosutely love everything about it. I too smell that burning belt smell every time I ride it, though. (I've had enough sleds to know what that smell is.) It's not a strong smell, and everything seems to be hooking up fine. I figured it was just another one of those new smells that comes along with a new machine, but you'd think it might have stopped by now seeing that I've got over 100 miles on it. While I have no reason to think the belt is slipping, the smell does concern me a little. Guess I'm wondering if it's possible that there is a slight misalignment between the clutches or something that could result in excessive belt wear. Anybody have any experience with this, or is it even something I should be worried about?
Thanks,
Steve

My 05 SP 700efi did the same thing, but I have about 350 miles on it now and hardly ever smell it. Everything seems to work flawlessly, so it didn't concern me a whole lot. I would give it awhile and see what your machines do, see if they get better like mine.
