Stolen Grizzly in MA :(
#1
A friend of mine just sent me an email. He has a Blue 04 Grizzly that was stolen out of his barn in North Brookfield Ma. He two other quads in there one of them being a Raptor and thats all they took. Keep an eye out for an unregistered Grizz with no key in the ignition. Send me a message if you see anything. Thanks.

I grew up in Warren (now I live in NH), whereabout do you live? My family owned the big farm on Rt. 19 right at the Brimfield town line and I used to ride all over the place around there. Nice to connect with people from the old "neighborhood."

Yeah, I used to ride where the high-tension wires run between Brimfield and Warren. My family owned property all the way up to those power lines so I didn't have to risk getting caught by the local cops riding on the roads. You can access them about 4/10 mile south of the Warren/Brimfield town line on Route 19 after crossing into Brimfield. However... I don't know if he still lives there, but right next to one of the places where the power lines cross a road in Warren (I think it used to be called Marsh Hill Road) there used to be a state trooper's house. Of course, this was a LONG time ago (Ive lived in NH since 1993), but he may still live there. The trail runs all the way from the Mass turnpike in Warren (where you cannot cross, of course) west through Brimfield into Palmer, I believe. I think it may even intersect the Mass Pike again if you go far enough west into Palmer. However, when you cross Route 19 in Brimfield, the trail used to end because of a swamp (you had to ride up nearby Dunhamtown Road to where it crosses again). There are a lot of places off the power lines you can ride also, but many are privately owned, didn't stop us when we were kids, though ;-). Again, however, it's been well over 15 years since I rode these trails, and I know a lot has changed there, so I hope Im not misleading you, but you should check it out just the same. Good riding!

yea i do do some riding in that area, but it mostly sucks now because people own all of the powerlines so you can't ride them any more, and all the land on the side is posted. Weve been in trouble a few times now for riding it so we can't do any riding now. Do you know of any other good placed to go riding in the new england area? sounds like you knw your stuff. Thanks again

Well, I know the Warren area from growing up there... I can tell you that there's much more in the way of riding in NH and Maine. While I live in NH, I have a camp in central Maine and it's still pretty wild up there. Basically, outside of posted land, snowmobile only trails, and railroad right-of-ways, there's LOTS of riding to do. The state the clubs in Maine have been very effective in expanding riding opportunities. So in that sense, Im glad I moved outta Mass 10+ years ago. I have to take partial responsibility for the trails I mentioned being off-limits... my family's been subdividing and selling off land in that area for the last 10 years. But I can't believe you can no longer ride only on the powerline trails! Guess things have changed since I left... Im sure where my camp is in Maine will be that way in a few years... I'll just have to keep moving north...
