I for one am very pleased with the release of the Sporttrax 250EX. It takes the best things of a Recon and 300EX/400EX and puts them into one entry level sport machine.
Looks are inspired by the EX/R series of past quads. Brakes have been improved, along with better suspension, aluminum rims and sport tires.
Shaft drive, electric start, and with the rear drum brake....no more adjusting the parking brake every time you use it(like on the EX/R).
I really like what I see, and I think that my girlfriend finally has a quad that fits her perfect.
My hats off too Honda.....

Drum brakes? that is horrible. Another GREAT job by Honda, by not making any ground-breaking quad, just a quad for your kid, or girlfriend.
Come on, when did drums ever become as good as Disc brakes? never............

A Blaster will also blast by that little 4 stroker and knowing Honda they will want there rider to pay alot more for the bike being blasted.

Woah hold on a second!!
Dont be so quick to bash up the 250ex when we havent seen any tests or reviews on it yet. I mean everyone that has a Recon knows that it has an amazing little engine. And if you put that amazing little engine into a bike that is 47 lb lighter than the Recon, I think you have yourself a nice little machine.
No it wont win any land speed records and No it wont smoke a blaster but for all those people who just like to fart around up at the cottage in the bush every once in a while its perfect and so is the Recon when you look at it that way.
So don,t be so quick to judge this bike it may just be the next best mid sized atv.

The drum brakes keep the cost low so your daddies can afford to buy you one.

Here's a question: Why did Honda go make another underpowered woosy engine like all their other engines when they could have used a real 250 from the XR? (Why is it 230, by the way?)
