Default Sportsman Overheating

I have a '04 Sportsman 500HO & Glacier 48" plow. I was plowing snow the other day - really working it for about 2-3 hrs - fan was working off and on - then later the pod flashed HOT - HOT - HOT. About then, cooling started boiling in reservoir and spilled out. Dealer looked at it - all OK - fan cycled on/off. Said everything was OK - after he added more coolant.

The machine has never been very muddy and is quite clean. I plan on picking it up this week and trying it again.

Any suggestions or ideas ???? What am I missing ?? HELP !!

Did the rad. screen get packed with snow? I have seen it happen when you are pushing a lot of lite fluffy snow

Drttrack97: I don't think the rad screen was plugged with snow. It looked OK. However, I was pushing a log of fluffy snow. I had noticed that the fan was coming on/off during my plowing, but then didn't hear it, but didn't think anything about it. I was working it in low gear - pretty hard - then it flashed HOT HOT - about 1 min later - coolant was coming out and boiling in reservoir.

How do I get at the radiator cap?
