Default Special Edition Kodiak 450?????

I found this while browsing the yamaha site. In the photo gallery for the 2005 kodiak 450, there is a beautiful Black Kodiak. I have asked my local dealer about this and they have absolutely no clue, they thought i was kidding!!! Could this be a special edition kodiak yet to be released? I want some info!! I would easily pay $$$$ to get the black plastics, they really look great. This is the link.

As for the New kodiak 450, I love it. But it does have its problems. Now in reverse it sputters under half or more throttle, even at low revs. Any ideas? It also has an almost misfire kind of sound to the exhaust even when its warmed up. Very sparatic, dull misfire like noise. It worries me quite a bit. I just passed 20 hours so i'm gonna take it in for the first tune-up to check the valves and the problems that I have along with the regular maintenence. The engine almost sounds like it knocks when its cold. Any Ideas or comments are helpful. Thanks and happy to be a new member of the forum. Dave

The black does look awesome. Who knows where those went to? As far as the reverse cutting out on your quad, it is limited to 15kph or something like that. I find the speed limiter to be a pain in the butt at times but oh well.

First off welcome to ATV Connection

I agree with you on the black plastic.........it does look good. I have an 02 black Kodiak and man is it ever hard to keep clean. Its just like a black car........the slightest gust of wind and its covered in dust.
