Re-usable Oil filters... Anyone use them/Experiences?
#1
Yes this has been posted before and I have been told by dealers that they are fine to use but has anyone had any first hand experience with them? They run about forty bucks and claim that they filter just as well, can be cleaned with dish soap or carb cleaner, and they last a life time. Thoughts? Experiences? Stories?

I've used a System 1 in a street car and some race cars. I like them. Super quality. You can see if you are having a problem before it becomes a BIG problem.
Sorry I can't comment about quad reusable filters.

D3ath, how much does a good quality oil filter run you? I see the packs of k&n filters on ebay for like 20 bucks, i don't think i would screw with motor using a reuseable filter, knowing my luck, i'd blow my motor.

I get K&Ns for 6 bucks each; this is what im trying to find out from people - how well did this actually work. If they filter well and do clean well then there is no danger towards the motor really. Must save $$ X_X & it would encourage me to change my oil more (one less thing to buy)!

YUeah i guess your right, im an oil change **** when it comes to that, i go all out, new filter, new amsoil, new plug, adjust chain, etc. I got a little ritual i go through when 20 hours comes up.

Lol, nope only a 4 stroke man, i know its obssessive, but when i walk in to the local cycle shop i tell jimmy to hit me up and he knows already, i get my goody bag and i walk out the door. He throws a plug in there so i just pop it in, its not like it will hurt anything, need some used plugs?

I have been cleaning and reusing the stock steel mesh oil filter that came on my Wolverine since 1995, with zero problems, always catches the little particles and such, give it a good rinse and blow out, and put it back in. The new ones should be even better quality, so I wouldn't hesitate to use them. After the box of filters I bought for my son's 300ex is used up, I'm gettting an Amsoil stainless mesh filter for it.
