Predator vs. 400 sport
#1
Hello, after doing research on this site, I have not seen this addressed. I was wondering was was the better sand duner, a worked Predator or a worked 400 sport. I know the predator has the better frame, steering and suspension, and more than likely, the 400 sport has the better motor for less money. Would just like to get some thoughts, pros / cons for each. Thanks.

F350crew, from what I've seen from the flattrack stuff that I do the Predators with just a slip-on silencer, airfilter, rejetted carb and dialed in suspension are faster than my Sport. The only thing that really seems to really hurt the Predator is that most of the guys who own them can't seem to ride them that well that I race with. Not saying that this is the case for all Predator's just the two or three that I race with.
The dunes would probably be different though.I can't wait to see the Predators race at our local dragstrip on one of the friday night ATV Shootouts.I'm betting that they post some respectable times in the 1/8th mile.

I think it really boils down to what you want. Both machines are extremely capable in this department. Do you want to shift or not? Do you want to do big jumps? My frame has cracked in two places and broken a rear spring from doing big jumps. (Dune)trails are a blast on both machines. Hill climbs I would say the 400 sport(modded) would be the victor but I personally wouldn't just want to climb hills all day.
I've ridden my machine in the dunes for around 4 years now and haved loved every minute of it. I've thought of trading it in for a Pred but just can't imagine being without it. Maybe when I become independently wealthy I'll have both.

I agree with duneholic, it's really a matter of choice and whether you want to shift or not. I enjoy just cruising around the dunes and not worrying about shifting. THen you get to head over to the drags hang with some pretty fast bikes and have people starring at you. You can read there lips saying what kinda quad is that!
