Yep, my 750 Brute FARCE has worn out it's welcome and once the delaer gets everything sorted out, I'm "coming over" to the "other side".

I'm currently interested in something smaller and more manageable than the Brute FARCE. Seriously considering a Rancher AT 4x4 or something along those lines. I do not want big bore nothing anymore. I want a "toned down" machine that isn't so obnoxious like the Brute. The Rancher line looks to fit the bill nicely. Most of my riding is casual trail riding, some ATV parks, and old railbeds. Yes, I do some mudding so the 4x4 is required. Sport riding will be limited so the sport models are out of the question. I definitely want an Auto trans.

Any rider reviews / input about the Rancher 4x4 AT? Is the Foreman worth the extra cash? Is air-cooling a problem in the hot weather?

Thanks gang - please accept my wishes to "convert"!

ONEANDONLYDWT,

One look in the Kawi forum will answer your question.

Hey mikey, I just bought the '05 Foreman 4x4 ES and I LOVE IT! It's an awesome crawler, mudder, trail riding machine. I rode it yesterday for the first time and had a blast! My buddy that I went riding with has an '04 Rancher. I let him ride my Foreman and he just couldn't believe the power. I think he will be moving up to the Foreman soon. Don't get me wrong there is nothing wrong with a Rancher.
His just wasn't 4wd nor the power of the Foreman.

The 05 Foreman only comes in S (foot shift), and ES (electric shift). Maybe you were thinking of the Rubicon with automatic. The 05 Foreman has greatly improved cooling with the additional 2nd oil cooler located out of the mud. If you must have automatic then it's Rubicon or Rancher AT.

Yeah you could look at the Kawi forum, but that got blown out of proportion a bit, keep in mind that I was exteremely torked about the Spam wordSpam word Spam wordSpam word Spam wordSpam word Spam wordSpam word ling issues with the Brute. The motor is nice, but that's about it. The point is that I'm gonn have the delaer get it back to acceptable operating condition and then part ways. And yes, it's just so big and cumbersome. Might as well drive a jeep around in the woods. It didnt fit in the back of my truck, barley fits even on the widest ramps and there are tight trails in our woods that I cant pass due to width!

So, the slate can get wiped clean as they say. It was a learning experience at least, I just want something more mellow and manageable.

I have an AT and I love it. It can go anywhere. I,ve riden in 85 deg. weather for hours and never had it overheat. It has a cooling fan that turns on to help keep it cool. Over all great machine thats durable and reliable. best choice in the 400 class

The Rancher is a nice size machine! Not a kids bike, but not a hulking beast either.

Word is that the 400AT is a little down on low end power.
