Default Atc 200m electrical problems

I have a 1984 atc200m; it has some electrical problems. First off I put a new battery in it, and it's not charging the battery. The neutral light stays on even when it's in gear. And also the electric starter doesn’t work. Before I had to jump the solenoid but now it won't even try to turn the motor over.

Sounds like you need to sit down with a ohm meter and a good wiring diagram. If you have been jumping the solenoid and now the starter doenst work, you may need to pull the starter apart and see what condition the brushes are in, and may need to install a kit. Brush kit here for $10

I had the same thing happen when I removed the battery, cuz it was no good, and ran it for a couple weeks. It slowly lost the headlight then the neutral light wont go off...starter still works though.

Had to replace the rectifyer/regulator box to fix my problem, and put a battery in of coarse

The bike needs a good battery at all times or it'll fry its self.
