NEED HELP HAVE QWESTION TO ASK TO SOMEONE THAT CAN TEAR A YFZ450 APART OR GOOD AT IT THANKS

well i have a qwestion to ask like ok i am ridin my yfz and like when u like tap the gas sometimes it goes and sometimes it just gos bla u kno like it has air gettin in or somethin and i always put high occtane in what is says to run and it dont have no aftermarket parts just a k&n air filter other then that nothin is aftermarket....but like i changed the k&n like cleaned it could i of not got it tight on there or somethin or what if u guys kno anything about this prob would u get back to me thanks and thanks for takin the time to read it.....

sounds like maybe a pilot jet got clogged, i dont like k&n cuz there is a chance of dirt getting in. UNI makes the most reliable filter which id rather have over a k&n. take ur carb apart and clean it. try it out and let us know

yea ight but like it dont do it all the time like i rode it the other day and all and it didnt do nothin and then i went out a bit after i cleaned the filter and then it did it...but were would i get one of those kind of filters at......but the k*n has a pre filter on it to and all i didnt think nothin would been able to get in there but maybe....To clean the carb do i just use carb cleaner no sertain stuff to get is there....?

yea this thing is like all stock excepet for that k&n but i didnt want it bad on my engine and all i didnt kno if u that and im not really good at that stuff so yea i would need to be told how i was lookin at a programmer and stuff for it they look kool as hell but yea do u kno what my prob might be cuz its not even been touch everything is bone stock

if you dont have a pipe, but have a better airfilter, you are gettin more air in than out, it sounds like vaporlock of sorts, pull out the spark arrestor on your pipe, and rejet it!!

ok i pulled the baffle out u want me to take the little arrestor out and just leave it out that wont be bad on my engine and all or no...and it only does it some times like could it be because its not all the way warmed up or no? if the arrestor wont hurt it i will take it out but i dont want to hurt it...and does anyone have a clue if the Titanium 4 a good pipe like made by fmf but u prolly kno that much...or do u guys have somethin better that it runs with?

Wow! I just had a MAJOR flashback reading this. I went back about twenty years to my teens when there was a thing called "valley girl". You know, like when people like throw in a bunch of like wierd like filler words and stuff like when they talk. I had the same problem on my YFZ untill i got the jetting right, The YFZ comes stock lean, so if you have put a K&N on it and your going to remove the baffle its going to be really lean. Jetting is different for everone so I can't tell you what to put in. You need to add a bigger pilot untill it idles right. That unresponsive blip right off idle is caused by not having a rich enough needle and main. rich it up and it will go away. Just go grab a bunch of jets from yamaha and start testing what works well. A good place to start with the baffle out and the filter is a 45 pilot 165 main and 5th clip on the stock needle. Everyones YFZ will jet different that just a place to start. Good luck
