Scrambler 400 4X4 race yamaha yz 125
#1
I own a 1996 scrambler 400 4X4 with some mods. They include a DG exhaust with type III oval silencer, k&n filter, hopped up carb, v-force reed valves, hpd clutch kit, ngk racing ignition, fox racing shox, dirtdevil tires, and midified airbox. I am just wondering if the scrambler will beat a 2004 stock yamaha yz 125. What is your opinion or guess?

I dont know about top speed. It can go either way. But whats a race with 2 bikes that have the same top speed but 1 bike gets to that top speed right away and it takes the other bike longer to get to that top speed. By the time you reach top speed he has the same speed as you and is wayy down the drag track.

I dont know much about sportsmans, but most people say "O WOW THE 800 JUMPS UP WEN U GIVE IT GAS" and some people say. "it hits 80 but it takes a while to get there. How can a 800 pound quad wheelie like nothing but take a month to get up to top speed?

For the fun of it, go for it. Howver if there is any type of wager on this stay away, you'll get stomped......... bad! I have a friend that has a Quadzilla, yes it hauls A$$, no other stock to mildly modded quad can touch it. So, when he wanted to drag against my yz250 ( when I still owned it) for s*&%s & grins, we did. The results were'nt even close, he lost badly. This was in approx. 80-100 yards. In a long run down the road he could have probably caught up, but with a pair of hotrod ring-dingers we both would have grenaded the engines. I ALWAYS laugh my butt off when some genius blows up his 2 stroke & he says " I don't know why it blew, I was just cruizin' down th e road for about a mile"

It gets to 40 mph fairly quick but builds speed slowly after that to a top speed of around 66mph (in a long run).
I think my 700 jumps off the line good, cant wait to get a clutch kit installed!
