Default Long Travel Scrambler/Sport Shock Set-Up.

Is there anyone who has seen Redbullssg profile and pics that would like to get a rear shock set-up like his? I want to do it, but unless I find a wrecked sled, I would have to buy a pair of shocks. If anyone else would like to do it, maybe we could split the cost of a pair, if we find some somewhere.

have you got a price from the dealer?i know most of the ryde fx front snowmobile shocks are around $199 and go up from there.i was thinking about taking one from my snowmobile once all the snow ,melts and trying it out on the quad,i really dont see the ride being that much better than the fox shocl thats already on it,but i guess its worth a shot..

troyer I was looking at Redbullssg profile and it looks like an easy update. I can;t really tell what he grinded from his pictures. but alot of his mods to make it fit I already have done. it looks pretty simple.

Don;t you think an extra 3 inches on the rear would be greatly unbalanced? the fronts seem worse then the rears to me.

PM me a price when you get it I'd be up for splitting the cost. were are you loacated by the way? I may be able to get a decent price.

also does anyone knoe if front shocks from a predator would fit a scrambler? a set of Fox air shocks for the front would be pretty cool.

I am located in SC. I have no experience with the Ryde shocks, just going by what redbull said. The ones I am looking at and the one he has are shocks with a rezzy, the ones for 199 dont have one.

He says they work great, and i am looking for more travel, and to lift the back end up some.

Not that is couldn't be done, but, Redbullssg did this to a Non concentric drive machine. The consentric drive machines have a cross brase back there that will not allow a longer shock to be installed. In 2000 polaris added the long travel suspension to scramblers. It added 2" of travel. I added one of these shock to my 1999 model but I had to change the swingarm also. The 2000 model swing arm shock mount is moved back to clear the cross brase.

I have a non-concentric drive machine. That is what I am planning to add this shock to. I think you are correct about it not working on the newer ones though. I think you could make it work, but it would be a bigger job.

troyer23j, did you get my email and pics? i was looking at redbullssg's shock. don't see any reason this would not work on any scrammy set up. the newer already have mount point further back for the lond travel fox. is this shock rebuildable? it would be a big advantage if it is, especially because you could have it valved for better performance. there are many shocks out there that can be made to fit, either non or concentric. just have to run the numbers for length, amount of available travel, full collapse, and full extension.
