Broken floorboard on '04 sportsman
#1
I broke a composite floorboard on a sportsman 600 crawling over a fallen tree. I went to the dealer and he said $120.00 for the replacement. Does anyone know where to get one cheaper because I don't think it will be the last broken one. Thanks.

Also some guys here have made some nice looking nerf bars to mount under the floor boards to protect this from happening over and over again. I am going to do some measuring and have my brother-in-law make some up. I have seen one set on ebay for $75.

I think the nerfbars mounted underneath the floorboards are a great idea, especially if you plan on doing some rock crawling or rough woods/trail riding. eventually I would like to have the nerfbars, front and rear bumpers and the cv axle protectors just for some extra protection.

I also have custom nerf bars to protect the floorboards. If you look at the underneath of the floorboards you will see the square tubing that is used for support. You can buy 3/4 Inch square tubing that slides right into the supports. I then welded 1 inch tubing on the outside. It takes some measuring because the supports are not the same length on both sides and they are not even on the bottom. I have a pic or 2 in my gallery. I have yet to break a floorboard and I do alot of rocks and creek beds.
