Default A-arm help/questions....

I bent my left side A-arms when a tree jumped out in front of me........now I tried replacing the top A-arm last night. I jacked it up, removed the bolts holding the A-arm to the frame and I removed the castle head bolt from the ball joint. I could not remove the ball joint from where it attaches to the wheel. I tried softly tapping it with a rubber mallet, but nothing. It's a 2000, so it's been in there for a while. Is there any trick to removing the A-arm? Am I doing something wrong?....

Thanks,
Steve

To remove the ball joint get the ATV Ball Joint Separator
tool form http://www.motionpro.com/Docs/atvtools.html it will pop it out in about 30 seconds

If you have a mechanic friend you can use one of his tuning forks.
