I have a 2004 AC 650 with rims and 28" mude lites and love the setup. I installed it 2 days after I bought the AC last year and run through the nastiest stuff and havent had any issues with it. I also carry my family on it and it rides awsome. I just reciently put a 2" lift kit and can go where only the meanest atv go. My ground clearence is now 17" and 39" to the bottom of the racks.

Mudlites seem to work really good. Softer tire. I myself am going to go with the gators when it is time to upgrade.
You should be fine as far as not breaking anything. It was the 2003's that really had the axel problems.

Catterman, are you putting the Gators on your 400? Are you going to a larger wheel or just going stock tire size but with Gators?
When it comes time for new tires I've got all kinds of choices but I'm not sure I want to do the bigger wheel thing.

1) Gators
2) Mud Bugs
3) Mud Lites
4) ITP 589's
I could change that order though. There are just too many good tires out there!

I had Mud Bugs on my 2000 500 and they were great. Also have them on my 2005 650. As light as any other tire out there in the 27" size with a stiff 6 ply side wall which helps when your running low pressure for traction in the mud.

Thanks Catterman, same to you!
Yes, it's legal to hunt adult moose in Canada, although most provinces have slightly different regulations. In the province of Ontario, as long as you are successful in the adult moose draw you get issued a tag and your good to go. Our hunt group was very lucky in 2004, we had one bull tag and one cow tag, both filled as you can see from my pics.
Unfortunately, no caribou in my area.

Thanks for the suggestions, Catterman. Mud tires just aren't a big priority where I'm at. We rarely see any water, let alone mud when we're out, so big grippers aren't a necessity. However, looking cool is (ha) so I may still get something a bit more agressive than our stockers. And even at that, we still have at least another season on these. Now, if we can just keep air in them... I really like the stock radials though. Not sure if I want to get away from that. Not a lot of radials out there - yet.
I think the key phrase there in your sentence is "if they come out", referring to the EFI 500. My feeling? I wouldn't hold my breath. EFI doesn't seem to be a huge priority with these manufacturers, though now that Polaris has it mabye more will jump on the band wagon. Would be nice, eh?
