Default 2005 Sportsman 700 Questions

I have had my 700 for about 3 months now. First thing i did to it was put the Velocity Wheels and 28" Swamp Witch tires. Also had the 2 inch lift kit put on. The axels never gave me a porblem until recently i got the bright idea that the max air pressure is 28lbs so i would put 25lbs in them. Now im sitting 30.5" in the rear and 29.5" in the front. Since then i have snapped the right rear axel 2 times and the left rear once. Also ive noticed if i run my winch very much at all my battery is almost completely dead and my lights are barely on. From what ive seen and gathered on these bikes the front axels are actually the same as gorrilla axels except the length on the stock 700 axels are just a little shorter. I was wanted to run 29.5" Outlaws and go with a bigger lift eventually. I know some of you owners of old polaris's know what all i would have to do to get this to work as far as axels, lifts, and what i could do about the battery possibly running a full size battery. Help me out a little.

The 28 lbs max is JUST to seat the bead on the wheel, operating range should be 4-10 lbs, MAX. A little more for better floatation and clearance, a little less for better traction as in sand at the dunes.
I have read that the polaris axil design limit is up to a 2" lift (angle) before modification is required or moving up to Gorrilla axils.

jimmypsp700 is correct. The max PSI stamped on the side of the tire is to seat the bead...NOT for riding. Riding should be 4-10. You really dont want tires to be 1 inch different in size for mechanical reasons. If you have snapped 3 axles with swamp witches, once you put on some 29.5s you will be breaking many more. What situations are you in when you are breaking these axles? What is your wheel speed? You shouldnt break an axle with a tire that isnt that aggressive.

Its not really been bad situations at all. The first axel started popping at the beginning of ride. We ride this place every other weekend or so, so it is a familiar place. Has one particular hole of all the wheelers ever ridden out there i have not personally seen but 4 including mine actually go through not as much as the mud part of it just as deep as it is with water on top. Probably about 2.5 miles or so into the ride is when we came to this hole i was showing off went through it with no problems. Rode about another half mile before we turned around and came back. I had to go through this one more time and probably about 6-7 feet after i got on firm ground on the other side of it is when i noticed it gone. The other 2 both went out just riding 5-10mph from hole to hole through the same place about 2 weeks later. I am younger i like to go through as much as it will but its not always a good thing. The reason i did post the note is i do understand there is a lot i dont know about riding and 4 wheelers. So far it has been just the rear axels breaking. Im not hard on it if we have to travel on an actual road im usually 4000-4500 RPM just cruising around 30mph. As soon as we got off the blacktop and on the trails it comes into low range and even in a mud hole unless i think gettin on it will get me out it never comes over about 4000-4500 RPM then. I dont treat it like most ppl would around my age and just dog the **** out of it but i have fun and still do as much as they do and more but dont tare near as much up. You have a 700 what do you think about tire wise. What is a good choice of tire as far as smooth, performance in mud, as well as floatation. Give me some hints on what you think so maybe i can experiment a little or we can share ideas on it.
