mods on an explorer, i need opinions
#1
i have a 2001 explorer 400, 38 tmx flatslide, v force reeds, air box mod, compression hole plugged, snorkled clutches, installing nitrous next week.
i'm thinking of a big bore, team roller or aeen roller. i ride in mud, skeg, rivers and mountains so i need my bottom end grunt and reliability.
any suggestions are apprieciated.

If you dont already have a pipe get you either a Dynoport or Aaen torquer they arte both low to mirange pipes. I hadnt noticed if you said you have rebuilt the topend? If not DO IT NOW before you break the stock junk piston. Then get the cylinder trail ported. As for the TEAM roller secondary they are great but if I were you I would port the engine first then get the roller.By the way both pipes I mentioned run close to the stock RPM range so you wont need to have a real high engagment speed. I had a 96 400 Sportsman setup alot like yours and with it ported and piped it would smoke the 660s and 700s.

It made a huge improvment on the bottom.I did the porting to a guys specs for trailporting. But you will need a pipe and the right clutching.
