If you're looking for performance, check out installing a 450R carb or a new cam (Hotcam). If you want looks, how about radiator shrouds or nerf bars? New bumper, powdercoat your wheels, new seat cover, the list goes on!

New and improved maybe but head and shoulders hmmmm

How about get a silencer with more backpressure that doesnt hurt the bottm end as much and put that 15th back in there. I am both serious and joking on that since you wouldnt need the added bottom end of the 14th if you ran an exhaust with a little more backpressure.

Anyhow here are some inexpensive tricks to get you started.

Remove the header and take a diegrinder or dremel and remove the overly large and restrictive weld on the inside by the part that the flanges butt against when you install it. You can actually increase the internal size by as much as 30% if you got one of the sloppier ones.

Do get at least a rear skid so you dont bang up the sprocket and disc as their both pretty expensive, and if your terrain is rockey or you have the extra cash the center frame skid can save your cases and a ton of $$$.

A hotcam stage1 will work well with your basic mods (around 120.00) and its not too hard to install with basic tools (Most would be in any decent tool box) but if you want a real gain you need to go with a higher comp piston ($80-120) some basic "clean up porting" ($100-400) and possibly get into the valves and springs etc ($100-300) and you can even consider increasing the bore (406-425 $75 440 $250 due to resleaving) but thats not an absolute must.

If you rejetted your carb right for your current mods you can also consider a larger pilot/slow jet that will allow you to start it with no problems and remove the choke for a small increase in flow from removing the obstruction it creates.

One thing that happens many times is that the adjustment on the thumb throttle doesnt allow the carb to fully open, and re adjusting it so it does can make a big difference and its free.

Thats about all I can think of for the less expensive or free stuff, and from here it can get a little pricey. If you are able you have to look into suspension mods because your quad can be faster with the power it has now if you can hold the throttle open longer. Shocks are not cheap and neither are a-arms but suspension will be some of the best spent dollars as it not only allows it to handle better and you can tackle obstacles at a higher speed its also going to make you get less fatigued and have more energy for riding harder etc. Plus it will make your quad safer due to being more in control.

Hope that helps out and even the free stuff should keep you busy for a while
