Raptor leaking oil
#1
I have a 2001 Raptor and the gear shift lever bolt has an o ring there and I noticed that it was leaking. So I removed the o ring and installed a new one. I went out riding again and it still leaks.
The dealer says that the rod where the o ring is could be worn. The quad only has 70 hours on the engine. Yes, it's under warranty (Got the 4 year exteneded one also) and it's covered.
I find that hard to believe. The rod that comes out of the engine that connects to the gear shift lever. Anyone have comments on this please give me some input. I am bringing it in and the Yamaha dealer says the warranty covers it. I just find it hard to believe that that rod could be worn. I'd rather believe that I installed the o ring incorrectly. Which is hard to do.
Thanks You, Chuck Artoux

Defective shift shaft I was told by the warranty people. They are having a few recalls on it and are fixing it. I am getting it fixed tommorrow under my 4 year extended warranty. It's covered.
Thank You, end of thread.
