Default very bad day for me

Hey! I am new to the forum and new to the sport. Rode atvs a couple of time a fell in love with it. So I decided to go out and buy one for myself. Finally got the money to buy a 00 ds650 w/ ron woods stage one kit. Man I have never rode a beast like that. So much torque and very fast. Just got it a couple of weeks ago. Yesterday was the first time I got to take it out to ride. Took it to Stoddard wells in barstow ca. Took a couple of my friends to ride with. One that I am trying to convince to get one and the other has a suzuki 250. His broke within the first hour and me being a good friend let him ride my bike also. Well my friend that I am tring to convince is convinced that he wants a ds650. Well I let my other friend do some riding and he takes off like a bat out of hell all of a sudden don't hear the quad any more. Was like damn hes gone. Next thing you know i get a phone call from him. " Dude i F@#$ed your bike up. I am pretty messed up too." I get over there and he is laying on the ground and my seat is in one place and my bike in another. one of his shoes was launched 50 feet from where he was at. Ends up he hit a g out that he didn't see and rolled the bike. Handle bars, steering column, lights, ignition, front faring, and seat gone. Frame might be a little bent. Have it in a shop to see how bad the repairs are. Pretty bad day for me!!!!

I am looking for a couple of things to speed up the process of putting the bike back to its original state. And yeah he is going to pay for it and he will be alright. It is a good thing for helmets. I am looking for a light, ignition, front faring and seat. Everything else I am going to let the shop deal with. Any suggestions, websites???

Look in the "whats in my garage" thread for some parts. Should be able to find some in there. That is why I hesitate to let anyone ride my DS unless I know they can ride and afford to fix it or give something up to cover it.

I would start with Ebay for those items. What you can't find there I would look to TVI for. You'll prolly have to call TVI though. They don't have much of a web site. Just tell Jose' what your looking for.

Ok, since you guys seem to know yer stuff about DS's. My best friend has a '00 DS and a few months ago, we were riding and his bike starts smoking like crazy, long story short, a grommet came loose and spewed oil all over the outside of the engine. Now, it will crank and fire, not stay running, and blows out out of the exhaust. Any ideas? a guy we know says he can fix it for 500.00 What do you think?
