Default How do you take of Camo Body covering?

I have a 97 Sportsman and the previous owner put the mossy oak Camo covering on the machine. Over the years the Camo has faded and now I want to remove it. There is an adhesive material used to connect the covering to the original plastic, is there a simple way to remove it?? I tried to take some of it off and I ended up scratching the plastic with a scotchbrite pad, which now looks pretty bad. Any suggestions?

Maybe denatured alcohol? Or will that eat the plastic too? I am not sure, it might get rid of the gunk and melt your plastic, too. Maybe someone else has experience with using it on a quad.

If it is the adhesive you are trying to get off, use Goo Gone. I have used it on my Sportsman and it does not damage the plastic.

Try a hair dryer. It produces enough heat to loosen the adhesive, but not ruin the plastic, then use the goo gone for any residue adhesive left over.
