I wish Honda would seriously think about coming back with the TRX250R.
I look at all of these quads for sale and want one so BAD!!
Right now I am riding a 99 Yamaha Blaster, trying to sell it and get a 87-89 TRX250R.
There are a couple here for sale in TX but I dont really have 3-5k to dish out for one.
If my Blaster does sell I have to pay off the bill which is 2500.
If Honda would just pull their heads out of their ***'s! and come back out with the old 250r, I mean comon, yamaha still puts out a 2 stroke and there are tons of dirtbikes out there that spit out exhaust, sheesh.
I just hope I can find a used one for a decent price that I can get my hands on.

With all the controversy about enviromental issues, don't expect 2 strokes to be around much longer. I think they're on their way out, especially if Gore gets into the Oval Office. That's probably the main reason Honda made their new 250EX a 4 stroke. Just the way I see it anyway.

Gore will win, the american people seem to like it when canidets lie and promise everything but never deliver. If Mccain was running we would win without a doubt but everyone I run into in Portland supports gore and his "feelings for the low class" Too many people in America are handout happy and love to live off us who do work. Come november the biggest eco freak will become the most powerful man on earth. Honda wont make a quad that noone can ride.

My local Honda dealer is a pretty sharp guy. I asked him about what was going on. He told me that Honda had a president of the corp that didn't really pay attention to what was going on. He was more interested in the cars they were building and all the money they were making off the utility machines. He said they were basically caught with their pants down. I believe there is a new president at Honda now. Don't know what will happen. I do know that Honda could make any kind of quad they wanted to and people would buy it because it IS a Honda. As far as the people that like the racing/hi-performance machines, we're really a minority in the quad world, except places like where I live (city). We all want racers!

Well rubeman for your information Yamaha isn't scared of enviromentalist or lawyers like honda. Next year Yamaha plans on releasing a new version of the banshee totally redesigned. This bike will be for you. Don't wait for Honda cuz you'll be waiting forever. Besides for the next couple years hondas r&D money is going into producing a 4-stroke dirtbike line and new watercrafts.

Well, that's fine if they do, but it won't be for me. I'll keep my Rubicon, thank you. Yamaha will probably continue to produce the 2 stroke as long as there is a market. I still say it's just a matter of time before Gore, or the tree hugging environmentalists, or whoever, forces a ban on them. Like I said...just the way I see it.

I hate to break it to ya but 2 strokes are on their way out. 4 strokes are just to much in demand. Hardly any wrench work, you can use 92 oct. fuel, and they are alot more reliable than any 2 stokes. I myself was just at your stage, alot of people told me that the Banchie was what I was lookin for, and alot of other people told me that a 400ex was what I was lookin for. So I decided to make up a pros and cons list for 2 and 4 strokes. First off, the banchies are RED tagged and so you are automatically limiting your rideing. YOu willhave alot higher maintenence with a 2 stroke and trail riding just becomes a pain. with a 4 stroke you can ride when ever, you have hardly any maintenece and they can still keep up with the 2 strokes. But in the end its all up to you. Just ask yourself, where am I going to be doing most of my rideing? If you like trails and fire roads like me and enjoy sand everyonce on a while go score yourself a 400ex, you wont be disapointed, trust me.

I second that. I also have a Blaster, and I'm looking for a 250R. The only descent one I've seen was $4500. I sold before I have a chance to do anything.
Honda could bring back the 89 R, put some new stickers on it, charge $6000 and sell 50,000 per year, at least for a while. I guess Honda doesn't want to make money, so I'm stuck trying to find a 12-15 year old quad that's not landfill material.
