rancher 4x4 ES tires & wheels
#1
What is the original equipment tire size and wheel size? What are the largest 25 " tires I can put on original wheels, if any? Will the 25"x8x12 and 25"x10x12 work or what recommendations can you give. I do not want to go to 26". I want a little more ground clearance, good low end torque, very good parallel hill stability when hunting in the mountains, ease of steering, and good traction in deep snow, mud, ice, and rocks. I'm looking at the Titan 489 & 589, also the Good year mud runner. Are there any better choices to meet my needs when in the high county in the rockies deer and elk hunting? Your advice is sincerely appreciated.
Thank You,

If I'm not mistaken w/ the rancher the general rule of thumb w/ the 4x4's is that the rear tires need to be 1" larger than the tires on the front. My personal opinion on tire selection is that if your going to spend the money, you might as well go aggresive (589's, MR). Also the 12" wide MR will fit on the rear w/o scrubbing the muffler or fender. Personally I would go w/ MR b/c they are a little lighter but the 589's are a little more affordable. No matter which tire you go with you can expect to have a little power loss, but I hear with Highlifter high perfomance kit you can gain back all of your losses.

On all 4x4s you're supposed to have the SAME tire height front and rear. You can put 1" taller on the back, but then your messing the ratios up, I know ppl that do it, and it works fine b/c they don't go fast, only mud ride. And they do it to save some power.
Stock Tire and Wheel Setting for the Rancher are:
front: 24x8x12 rear: 24x9x11
To put Titans on, you will need a 12" wheel in the back.
