Default need help with 400 sport

I have a 1997 Polaris 400 sport. It has been completely rebuilt. It runs like a champ, except for one issue. If you get on a steep incline, about half way up the incline the bike will slowly stop going forward, and even roll backward. Is there some adjustment that can be made to remedy this? On flat ground, or moderate inclines, the bike screams. Any ehlp you could provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Did you check the belt? It sounds like a belt slipping problem. I changed mine and noticed a big differnce. It was not slipping that much but when i changed it it grabbed a lot better than it did.

sounds like its in the clutching, its not downshifting and ajusting to RPM and torque load requirements.
