Default 400 Scrammy internal mods?

Hey guys,

I'm thinking of getting some work done on the Scrammy, (you know we just can't get enough) so what do you think I should have done or added while its apart?

I am thinking of Trail porting, head work, wiseco piston (maybe 1 size bigger), reeds, and maybe get the carb bored, what do YOU think? Should I get a girdle too?

I currently have the HPD trail pipe and clutching and plan on keeping this pipe.

Thanks for your help,

Jim

I think the trail porting, head work, wiseco high compression piston, and a set of Delta V-Force reeds, with the reed spacer would get it up and screaming.

thanks for the reply guys,

I just want it reliable (new piston) and some performance gains but nothing radical, just a fast trail quad not dragging (but do plan on showing others what a Polaris can do! lol).

I don't want to run race fuel just premium or a mix. Does the girdle require any special mods for install? Do I need to drill and tap? They do seam like cheep insurance.

Thanks again,
Jim

Hey Jim if you are going to keep the stock head you can get the Aaen girdle kit which just girdles the front of the cylinder. I don't think it would be that hard to drill the holes yourself for the studs. I think Whitedog told me he or his buddie did it and it wasn't that hard. Rick just cut away the fins on the cylinder for the studs on mine but I've seen some just drilled out and it looks just fine. I think what you want will be really reliable too.

I would go with a cool head of some sort. I know here in AZ it makes a big difference of running hot or cold. My fan never did come on. Then if you change your mind and want a little more pop then you can change domes..........Other options --you can do a 7mm stroker on pump gas.....really dependable and has alot of pop. I would put it on 12:1...very smooth (Girdle kit) The best Idea always
