Default predator reliability

i have a 2003 ds650 right now and i love the thing but the only thing i need and dont have is reverse. everyone i know has a raptor so thats out of the question. i was looking at the predator and now that it has reverse i am really concidering trading my ds in for a 05 predator troy lee edition. how is the reliability of the predator?? never owned a polaris so i have no idea.

Very nice machine.......they have all of the quirks worked out of them........if you take care of it, it will take care of you!!! And going with a tld, you'll get some nice shocks....and much more. You can't ask for more out of a stock quad than what preds come with.........

I will agree, they are great quads.....I love my 05, I also ride with two 03's and one 04. No problems with any of them as of yet.

Since you are riding a DS650, maybe you are a BIG guy? If so, you may not like the fit of all these other smaller quads.
Try to ride them, or at least get on them for a "fit check".
I rode TRX250Rs for years, a Banshee for years, my Raptor, and now my 03 TLD. I like my 03 TLD best of all. I do wish it had reverse, but not a big deal. My Raptor has reverse, but I ride the Pred. If the Predator fits you, you will love it. The handling is the best, it's comfortable, good suspension, and good power.
Polaris is a huge corp with decades of good reliable products. More important is how reliable is this Pred. So far, I think it is excellent. The 2005s have reverse and all the bugs are worked out, because they have upgraded the design each year.

If you are a BIG guy, be aware that the new DS650s are vastly improved over older models. I have ridden the old and the new....what a difference!
