anyone know if it will fit a sportsman and was it worth the 100 bucks?

Did the air box mod come as an assembly or parts you had to put together ? Also if it was parts, how tough ws it to install?

It came with an aluminum scoop that you had to cut the old lid and rivit the new scoop to it. Plus the new main jet, needle jet tube, and slide spring for the carb. It came with everythign you needed, including the rivits and drill bit. The instructions were real easy to follow. I had it all together in less than an hour. well i went to partsland site and on the 02 it has the same part # the intake duct is diffrent as it seems scammys would get better air flow anyone ever talk to hpd ?

 

Does that mod make things a little difficult when going through mud and deep water

 

It does let more dirt and water in the airbox because it flows a tone more air. But, I run a waterproof Outerwears on my K&N, so that helps a lot to keep more of the crub off of it.

What I did I had an old outwears that was torn so I cut it wrapped it over the snorkel took a heavy elastic and snapped it over it does not stop the airflow but is water resistant to a point and stops the dirt from entering the box. Not sure if it is going to work in the real world driving as I have not been out yet.
But if not all I gotta do is take off an elastic.

I do not think the airbox mod will work on the Sportsman cause they run a diff carb so the spring and jet tube would not be calibrated for it.
That is if they are diffrent carbs I thought they were 38mm I could be wrong


Sorry i went to the polaris site they are 40mm cv carbs so they are the same. Not sure if it will work though.
