A friend of mine from work brought his Son's DS 50 over because he could not get it started. My question is: the starter really sounds like it is dragging. Has anyone else ever had a problem with the starter on one of these?

 

No. And mine starts a highly moded 70cc high compression head. It's ben doing fine. We always use the kick starter and save the starter for races.
