Default Where to start with shim thickness? 03 P650 stock 900' elevation

Well I ordered my manual and am going to pull my carbs and do a cleaning. Also going to drop in NGK irridiums.

On a stock 03 P650 residing about 900', where would you start with the shims? Im thinking .03. Basicly just doing this to get rid of that damn 5mph+ popping in the airbox. The mixture screws have solved the starting problem.

I really would love to just open the carbs once. So give me your idea, .02 .025 .03 .04?

Do I have to change pilots after shimming?

Thanks
