I have never heard of anything like that before, or have seen anything like that. By the looks of the engine, looks like someone don't take good care of there quad. I have heard (someone on here) broke there chain, and crack there case, BUT thats what a case saver is for. They are $30.00 bucks.

I had my case crack on my 04 predator, but it was because of my chain breaking. Also, for your info, I had a case saver on my machine, it was broken off when the chain broke. It actually caused a lot more damage than just cracking the case though, it screwed up my tranny too. It doesn't sound anything like your situation though.

Darenello, YES! I posted on here a few months ago about my buddies predator that had cracked the case from clipping a small tree and it was in that same spot. I had also told people that they might want to keep a watch out for that such thing and all the replies were basically "you're a polaris basher", not in those exact words, but that's what I got from the replies.

I would if I was you. It might save you some money later on. I think Rath Racing has them for like $30.00.

Yes they are easy to install, I think it's 3 bolts. I don't know if Polaris makes them or not. Rocky has some different ones.
