any one raced or seen a raptor on a mx track, im interested how it will do on a track, say against 250r's, and banshees etc.......

 

Looks like you have the perfect name for the first person to try a Raptor at MX. If you think that DNF is a good finish in a race, get one. P.S. get good life and health insurance first.

 

well I saw one at the track last weekend......the guy also has DS and a fully modded 400ex....and of course it can't touch that 400ex......if it had some wider arms and axle...and some shocks with out of sag to keep it low it would handle ok for pretty good for MX.......but it's just not wide enough to corner fast enough stock.......later

 

I saw 2 raptors racing last weekend and they both got spanked by bone stock 400ex's.

I'm pretty good now.. the only thing is.. your 300ex is just slow enough to keep the front end up.. and I'm DEFINATELY gonna hafta move my shifter up.. so I can ride with my boots.. and shift up in the air.. well, i gotta go.. see my woman..lol Later phewls!!! hmm, i think the raptor handles like a 250r, i race my mx banshee right now thats why i was wondering bout the raptor, ive ridden one and it handles better then the banshee ever thought of.with some mods i think it may be a contender on a mx track...

Ewwwww, Raptor Handling like an R???????? NEVER.. unless you lowered it, widened it and put a 2 stroke in it! I haven't ever ridden one.. but.. I know this cannot be true! Now once you put a LoneStar axle, Timmy a-arms, pep zps shocks.. then it may handle more like a stock R!!! Later phewls,

 

LOL Man I wouldnt even start on this topic. All the Honda guys will say the Raptor is crap and is slower than their new 250ex and the Yamaha guys will say it's a great bike. Although to be honest I havent seen anyone from the Yamaha forum say anything about trying MX. I dunno ride/race it yourself and see what you think.
I personally will never race with it and put my name on a list for a trail bike. From the feedback i've gotten sounds like I got what I wanted. Sorry I couldnt help much! Everyone have fun riding this weekend.....while im stuck at the job!
