Default Can someone tell me the difference in these jets

I have had jets ordered for almost three weeks they finally come in today. My Mom was out next to the dealer today so I had her pick them up. My carb uses the large round slotted jets and they ordered the small round slotted jets. My ? is what is the difference besides the size of the head on the jets and will they work in my carb? Its a 500ho carb from a sportsman.

I don't think they'll work. I'd be surprised if the thread size was the same. Go here to identify what you have. I'm sure it's the N100.604 based on your description. I ordered my jets from this same company and they were here in a week.

The threads look identical but the head is smaller. The N100.604 large is what came in the carb I recieved the N102.221 small from the dealer today.

I did a quick search and found some information that the smaller jets could be used in place of the larger jet, but carbs that use the smaller jets may not be able to use the larger jet. The smaller jets are made for the Super BN series. If the threads are the same and depth of the threads are the same and the head is no deeper than the large jets, I don't see why you couldn't use them.

Thanks for doing a search for me. I went over a the garage and put a 180 jet in and it screwed right in. I did a few wide open runs and pulled the plug and it still looks new it don't have any color. I think I'm going to try the 185 jet tomorrow its to dark to try to work on it now. Thanks again Oleman.

If you're doing a plug chop you probably won't see any coloring on the visable portion of the porcelin. You should be looking for coloring at the base of the porcelin. Could be real hard to see based on the plug type. Take a look here (Q#33) for some tips on reading the plug by cutting the some of the threads off of the plug. There's additional info here on doing the plug chop as well.
