I do not have a larger dynojet than 170, and i need a largr jet. Could a stock, say 170, 165, main jet be used? I think that the needle is supposed to be used with the dynojet main adapter, but i have no idea, could someone give me a clue here. thanks

I see no reason why you couldn't use a Keihin main jet, although you may need to alter the other jet settings to accomodate it. As in any jetting, the engine itself has the final opinion as to proper jetting, so a plug read afterwards would tell you that.

Have you seen the artical RTFm?

170 seems to be the most we can get out of that carb.

mine- 170 main, drilled 42 pilot and "Dyno"needle on third notch with holes in the air, box stock filter.
note- main adapter was not used on mine.

i can't stand this dyno jet bullcrap anymore, the dynojet 170 looks smaller than the dynojet 165, and the STOCK 148 keihnin or whatever, looks larger than both of these!!!

So far in this K&N atv power kit, I have taken the K&N filter off and used a uni filter, (dust in air bod black tube) next i might not use the dynojet, SO the K&N power kit was a wasted 129.99.

what a rip

Relax Relax... Goto www.dynojet.com and give them a call... You can order any jet size you want and any parts you need. I live in vegas where they are located and went down and had to pick up a new adapter and washer.. The jets are cheap.. And for the weight shipping should be nill... As for your needle question you can use it.. It is the same as the stock needle. Line the 2 up.. Y would you want to run higher than a 170?? without running a bigger carb?? You are going to run to rich and foul plugs..

Daydreaming,,,hmmm they only got me for forty two bucks,,,,,,,,

O,,-Where was I ,,,O yea Quit your bitchin! Your halfway there let's make this thing run!

Ok, first of all in order to get more flow out you must let more flow in.(note- you are taking this carb to it's max flow rate) Increasing jet size requires letting more air in there for you must either drill holes in the air box lid or remove the lid.
The ability of your exaust to flow walks hand in hand with the jetting. You want to achieve a balanced flow across the entire RPM range.

Copy my settings,,,,emmmm hold back 10 on the main and test your plug, It will work trust me!!

I'm not talking just to here my head roar.

well, for some weird reason, my bike was running extremely lean with all 12 disk's on the white bros pipe (the uni flows as good as the K&N). so i put the largest dynojet that came in the kit DJ170. and it was still running quite lean, so i had to remove disk's, now i am running only 7 disks, uni filter with no holes in the airbox, and the 170 main and it is running fine. But i want to use more disks without running lean, So i am thinking, bigger main, and that's where i am at now.

PS: FYI, Dynojet and regular jets are different

your at the point now that you have maxed out the ability of that air intake into the air box to let any more air in. If you don't want to drill holes in the air box lid (cheap to replace) to let more air in then your about as far as you can go with the jetting to match your disc selection amount.

You said it yourself, If you add more disc's your letting more flow out, But walking hand in hand with that is that your not getting any more air flow in to mix with the fuel.(IE=lean)

The rule is the more you can get in the more you can get out.
FYI- yea I know, could they make it any more confusing?
