I was wondering which quad you think is a better overal quad... speed, ergonomics, just the whole setup. If u raced the 2 stock to stock who should win? thank you just wantin opinions not tryin to start a agruement about whats better

 

There is both in the garage. When they were both new (stock) is was hard to tell which was faster, riding one then the other. my wife bought the 04 Pred. right before the 05 updates. Every complaint we have about hers, was fixxed with the 05. I think if I rode an 05 predator I would like it more then my 450r. The 450r wins when we race, but mine is opened up some. When they were stock I would win her, either bike. They are that close.

 

From what I've seen they are very close in a drag. I actually seen the Predator win but it could have been eithers race.

 

I just bought a new 450r and my friend bought an 05 pred, and the bikes are pretty different... Both bikes are fast as hell, but the gears in the pred are shorter than the 450r. I'm not much help since I'm only a newbie, that's just what I've noticed so far. =p

 

Hey guys, this post is alitte late but. I have a Preddy and have raced alot of 450s honda and yamaha. Im stock except for a K&N. I tried to race a stock one but no one had one at the dunes. I only raced going up hill thou, Seems like they all had me alittle outta the hole(on the flat) but I didnt know how to launch. As I got better seems like the 450s still had the launch but I pulled on all of them going up the hill not very fast but alittle bit. I think on a straight though they would win.

 

well.. see its a very close race.. 450r and predator.. but if i would half to lay $ money on it.. on a drag race i would give it to the predator maybe by a 1/2 a quad.. not just saying that cause i have a predator either.. dirt wheels tested the 450r to run 74 mph on gps.. and mine stock toped at 76 mph.. so its about a 2 mph difference.. the 450r will always jump out of the whole better.. but wheather the predator will catch up or not is a question i wont know till i race one..

I doubt the predator would win, 50 cc's more, but like 60 pounds heavier. Remember people the 450r aint set up for drag racing its set up for mx, now if we geared the front sprocket up to a 15 (ignorantly assuming its a 13 i have no idea) the predator would maybe MAYBE get it accel by a tiny bit but then the 450r would crush it top end. ID pick the 450r over the predator any day. But the rappy 660 beats both [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]

 

I would have to say that it would be a pretty even race about anyway you look at it, but paintballbanshee has a point in that the predator does indeed weight significantly more, without producing a lot more horsepower. I would have to say that the 450R would probably win on a mx track for that reason.

 

OK JUST YO LET YOU KNOW..COMPARING THE RAPTOR AND THE 450R IS LIKE COMPARING APPLES TO ORANGES TWO DIFFERENT ATV'S ONE IS MENT FOR MX RACING AND THE OTHER IS A SPORT/TRAIL ATV...SORRY FOR GETTING OFF SUBJECT BUT I SEE TOO MANY PPL COMPARING THESE TWO AND ITS JUST WRONG...ANYWAY THE 450R WOULD BEAT THE PRED IN PRETTY MUCH ANYTHING DRAG,MX,HILL RACING...ECT.

PRED = 415LBS
