Default I'm thowin' my boots away

Is it just me, or are riding boots just getting too politically correct?

I just got a new pair of el cheapo Fly 805's or something like that, and the darned things are so stiff I can't even shift. My boys are using Alpine Stars that seem much better, but still appear stiffer than I'd prefer.

I realize that stiff supposedly protects ankles, but missed shifts cause high-sides, valve float, lost races and other undesireables.

What's a rider to do?

Wish I had mine on yesterday...when I flipped off a uphill with a lip. wouldnt have this nice bruise today in the middle of my shin. I have a nice pair of Tech-8 Alinestars and havent worn them in a couple of years cuz they scratch up the plastic on the bike and are also hard to do trail maintenance with them on. I raised the shift lever a couple of splines to acomodate the boots though.
Garne(sp?) Trial Boots look good;nice and supple looking.

I haven't bought a pair of boots in years..... Why should I? I don't put my feet down when I'm riding a quad.... And you can't walk in those dam boots... So what are they good for besides making your feet hurt....

Dont wear riding boots on atvs, never will. They sucked on bikes but I could understand why I needed them. With nerfs on my bike and a good set of strong boots or shoes then I feel plenty protected.
