I have a '03 Raptor, and I am doing my spring maint. on the bike. I changed all fluids, new water pump, oil filter, and spark plug. I am in the process of adjusting my valves. I did my buddies 400ex last spring, and now I want to do it on mine. I also have the service manual to go along with. I got the bike apart, and tappet covers off, and I am having problems finding TDC. I got it aligned with the "I" mark, and there is no freeplay, so I rotated it till I found "I" again, no freeplay...I did this for about the last 20 minutes. How would I go about finding tdc on the compression stroke another way? This will be the first time the valves have been adjusted. Also I am trying to find a couple of testers, and I am having no luck around here. I bought a compression guage today, but I need a detachable tach, so I can set my idle, and I need an timing light. Thanks for any help.
