Default 400ex header

Ok I have a HMF slip-on and i'm planning to get a 416 this summer. Well anyway I don't want to sell my pipe and buy a full system because I'm only 14 and tryin to save some money. Well will this be okay just to leave the slip-on there? It's jetted. Another possibility is to grind out my stock header for more flow. Would this help out alot? Would I need to re-jet? Thanx

From what I hear, grinding the welds out of the header is as good as an aftermarket header. I would think you would need to rejet with the header being wider because there will be more flow

A FMF powerbomb header will work with the HMF slip-on. With the larger bore and higher compression piston your 400 will breath better with aftermarket header. I also hear that a Pro Circuit header will work.
