Welding on KFX 400 help please

Default Welding on KFX 400 help please

Ok i need to do some minor welding on the back grab bar to fit my new drink holder...... What all would i need to do to saftly weld on the bike? I dont want to burn any of the computer crpa out cause i cant afford it, I will be using mig and torch if that matters.... Thanks for any help........

Default Welding on KFX 400 help please

To be extra safe, unplug whatever you dont want to fry, voltage regulator, and CDI. I had my headlight guard welded on to my winch mount and I believe thats what fried my voltage regulator, its mounted right behind where the welding happened. Just make sure to run your ground clamp directly to the piece your welding. Many people have welded and had no problems, I just wont risk it again.
