2005 rubicon

I am planning on buying the 2005 rubicon. I would like some information about it. How well does perform compared to the old rubicon? Does it have EFI?

No EFI. New body style, .6 gallon bigger gas tank, switchable 2-4wd (Trax-Lok), brake lights, front disc brakes, softer (I have been told) ride.
I have been told being able to run in 2-wd give it a little more power, but the motor and drivetrain is the same.

Although it is definitely an improvement over and older one like mine, the price tag is ridiculous. When you can buy a Suzuki KingQuad 700 for less money,..........why even look at the Rubicon?

"why even look at the Rubicon?"
When we bought our first ATV we went with the intention to buy a new SP 500 HO. We rode one and also rode a Yamaha 400 4-wd. I had ridden a 91 (?) Polaris Trail Blazer (?) 350 2-stroke, liquid cooled ATV, and thought it was the greatest. Had also ridden a Honda 400, hated the manual foot shift.
We were not even a slight bit interested in anything Honda had, we wanted a Polaris.
We were going to ride double. The salesman at the third dealer we visited said we needed to at least ride a Rubicon.
Very reluctantly I agreed just to make him happy and tell him, "no thanks, thats not what we want". He briefly explained how the trans worked and the different shift programs, which I thought was a joke, a push button shifter! How dumb?
I got on, selected ESP, took off and ran it up through the gears and then down shifted as quick as I could. I was very impressed with the "snap into the next gear feel" of the up-shift and very impressed with the engine braking, something that both the Polaris and Yamaha lacked.
Then my wife drove it. Together we only rode it about 100 yards.
"We'll take a Red one!" Wrote the check and loaded it in the back of the truck.
So far, 5000 miles, 588 hours. We have spent a grand total of $12 for repairs. The only ATV's we ride with that have never been into the shop for repairs are Hondas.
Put your $700 in the bank, you're going to need it.

you will love a Honda and more than likely spend very little on un-schedule maintenance if any for 10 or more years and still get a great resale.
AS for Suzuki When I was 16 and 17 I had two deferent dirt bikes and they were complete junk I told myself after that I would never buy one again
