I am in the process of selling my cannondale and looking for a DS650. What I want to know is if the guys that bought the X wished they would have saved their money, bought a standard and modded it with extra?

Vise versa also, did any standard guys wish they would have splurged on the X?

The dealers I called, it is about $900 more and although I like the colors and look better, I am just afraid I will end up replacing those parts anyway.

I would go for the X. You get the tach, baja lights, all the skid plates, nerf bars, alum front bumper, and better front shocks.

 

I'm glad I went with the standard.

I spent a grand total of maybe $300.00 more to get a Tach, Nerf bars from a Baja, Swing arm skid plate and a twist throttle.

The only thing I don't have is the added lights......

 

they are selling the X model here in Arizona for 6600.00 OTD, I think for the difference over the normal its a pretty darn good deal

go with the x you get skids nerfs bumper extra lights the x shocks that are REALLY awsome and it looks the best out of all of the ds models

 

I dont know how many times my feet have came off the pegs,only to be safe with
the nerfs.Or how much difference the gas shocks make,ive never rode the standard
model.

What I do know is I think the BAJA X looks badass[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img][img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]

 

They also have the steel braided brake lines.
I have the BAJA and love the tach. I wish I had different shocks, though. The X has the gas shocks. I don't know how good they are. My front shocks suck.
I bought the Bombardier nerf bars for $189 but have seen them on eBay for $40
What kind of racing are you doing? That would be a factor.

 

Maybe you would be interested in my 2004 Baja X. I don't have the time to ride it. It has a HMF pipe, Vortex CDI, K&N filter, and a rear grab bar. Back in Nov 01 when i bought mine it was a great deal i thought, i paid $6800 vs $7400 from other dealers around, but the extras were def worth it, the graphics, handguards, rims, and fog lights were the biggest advantages plus all the other lil goodies like the big front bumper, nicer tires, better a-arms, exhaust shield, etc. Id def go wit the X if thats what catches ur eye
