WHEN I WAS TAKING MY OIL TANK OFF I NOTICED THAT AT THE BASE OF THE OIL TANK "NEXT" TO WHERE YOU DRAIN THE OIL, THAT FITTING UNSCREWS AND THERE IS A WIRE MESH SCREEN INSIDE THE TANK AND MINE WAS HALF PLUGED UP, I DONT KNOW IF EVERYONE KNOWS THIS BUT I KNOW I DIDN"T, IF SOMEONE WAS NOT AWARE OF THIS AND IT GOT COMPLETEY PLUGED UP THAT COULD CAUSE ALOT OF DAMAGE ON THE ENGINE, I AM NEW HERE SO I DONT KNOW IF THIS HAS BEEN BROUGHT UP OR NOT, HOPE THIS HELPS SOMEONE

 

Yea it has been posted on here before.......but ive never had any problems with that screen.

 

Most are aware of that screen, however some are not. Thanks for your concern with trying to help. I'm sure someone will have benifited from this, and when they do it's worth every second of your time.

Next on the fix list is the caps lock button....lol

 

about 2 years ago our local bomb shop rebuilt some guys motor and did not clean the tank filter, long story short, they fried the guys bottom end while it was in their shop- IDIOTS! That is why they never get their hands on my stuff.

 

Yes,I agree do it yourself read the manual, read great threads like this
that help keep owners like me AWARE of little things like this that become

This may sound like a stupid question. How do you go about cleaning that out? That's something I never realized that needed attention. I will look into that as soon as I have the a-arms installed and I can roll it into the garage.

 

Just pull it out and blast it with carb cleaner................poof.........good as new

 

I always flush the tank out with gasoline after I clean the filter, you'd be surprised how much gunk clings to the walls of the reservoir.
