Raptor vs. piped ds650 and piped banshee......I am not wonderin who would win but who did win
#1
Today(sunday, 24), me and a few of my buds were out riding like usual when 3 wheelers fly by us so we catch up to them so we check out there rides the first one a 99 banshee with fmf fatty pipes, power core II silencers, and holeshot mx tires, the second ride a 2000 bombardier ds650 with graydon nerfs and a rotax pipe(no kit just pipe), and the third ride a 2001 raptor. So we show them where we ride and ask if they have dragged yet. They tell us know so of course 2 curious 14 year olds and a 12 year old want to see it so we show them a place where they can top it out and hold it there. We got there and they took some practice runs out there. Here is the stats:
riders expirience:it isnt there first time to ride
drag terrain: flat, and grass
strip distance: 1/2 mile
quads mods: read above
So i told them when to go and the took off, the raptor wheelied of the line but held on the gas and got the holeshot about a quad length behind was the ds and about four lengths behind was the banshee due to its burning out because of its road worn holeshots. About fourth gear the raptor started pulling away still wheeling through the gears up till fifth gear but the ds wasnt to far behind and the banshee was done for after they got to fourth due to its spinning tires. At he end it was the raptor followed buy the ds about 2 lengths behind, and the banshee about six. This is the truth no exageration. I will be happy to here your pinion but remeber i was the one there so please dont tell me what i saw and dont get on my case cause i wasnt racin i was just watchin them. L8ta

Was the DS spinning at takeoff? Did the DS have stock tires? Stock gearing? Was he running the airbox lid off? What size main jet? I would think the DS would reach the rev limit in 1/2 mile at around 75mph. Did the DS hit the rev limit? Did the Raptor reach top speed? Was there significant weight difference in the riders? Was there just one run or was the result the same for several runs?

I was there when this all was happening. The guy with the DS650 was talking about hitting the REV limiter alot. He said i always felt the thing kicking in. EVERYTHING was stock on it cept the pipe and graydon nerfs. He might have had a new jet in it cause of the new pipe.....I'm in HEAVEN!, I love that DS650 alot more than i thought i would. Also, that guy and the other were talking alot about getting traction on it.They were trying to ride wheelys and could really get them up because of lack of traction. Both of those guys said that if they would have raced on pavment that the banshee would have burned them. That banshee had more on it than pipes and tires. It's bored over with aftermarket reeds...etc...etc. I was watching most of the races between them and the Raptor was beating it about 2 quad legths everytime(about 6 times), but once i seen the DS650 beating the Raptor by about 2 quad lengths once. I think the raptor will be the new wheely king now, cause i was toped out on my Trialblazer and that guy FLEW by me riding a wheely as if i was sitting still. I also just found out that the guy with the DS650 lives about a block away from me. Sorry if this is long and boring. Later dudes,Kenny
