im thinking og getting a quad between these too and i was wondering which is the best for riding in open fields and on roads. which quad is fastest and which handles/rides bettter.

 

The 450R...The Raptor tops out faster stock (Can be fixed with gearing changes) but the R will out accelerate it and the handling on the R will also be greater. Id get the R no doubt!!

 

Have you looked at the Polaris Predator? They are nice machines in that class. Might be worth a look!

 

I would much rather have the 450R then the Raptor, but then you have to kick start it.

 

Dont forget reverse...

 

My bad.....the Raptor has reverse.......but so does the Predator.

 

Seems like its hard make any decision on a recreational hi-po sport atv without including at least a half a dozen machines. But I suppose thats a good thing, lots of options for buyers.

 

If your going to race get the 450, but if your going to trail ride more get the raptor (reverse electric start)

 

If your going to leave both machines stock, then go with the 450R. If you plan to add a lot of aftermarkert parts, I would go with the raptor, because with some money , you can make the raptor scream. Also , depends on your size. If your a bigger, taller person, your gonna want to go with the raptor. Both are worthy machines.
