If you have 4K and could go back to 86-87 What would you buy?

I have kinda always wondered about this, If you have $4000 dollars and could make a trip to the past say 1986, (and where buying a trike) which one would be setting in your garage right now? For me, It would most likley be a Kawsaki T-3 Tecate.

i would buy microsoft stock.
a T3 most likly would not have lasted like most of the T3 & T4'
i bought my 86 250R ATC in late 86 for 1600 out the door.
i could of bought the T3 or T4 86 or 87.

250R no question about it.
After every ride on the Tecates you gotta go retighten every nut and bolt, before your next ride. 250R's are way more durable. A couple of my friends had Tecates and they spent more time wrenching than riding. But when they where riding they were the fastest thing out there stock.

86 ATC 250r with the optional HRC increased steering angle closed circuit race use only kit. Money left over for Showa race suspension front and rear, adjustable +4 inch Westcoast swingarm, +2 inch axle, whatever big bore kit for the timeframe, etc.
I love the increased steering angle kit on my 85, its like having a twin screw boat with one drive in forward and one drive in reverse. Talk about being crossed up sideways.
I would also have bought MSFT, prolly all 4k into it, then I could have bought Honda. And Arctic Cat. Ok, I'm calming down now.

Well I am not even much into a 2-stroke ATC, I ride to many extremely tight woods and trails to deem one practical. I just always liked the way the T-3 looked and If I had my current knowledge thats what I would buy because of its raritey (sp?). For pure riding purposes I would pick up a 350X.

I would have made a deal on an 86 ATC 250r and 86 350X. In a86-87 they were discounting the hell out of those 3wheelers, and getting those 2 whose sticker prices were $2398 AND $2198 OR SO COULD HAVE BEEN HAD FOR $4000 out the door, I guarentee it. I bought my almost new 85 R for $800 in 1988.

I'd go with a 250r and a 250sx
