I've been wondering that too. I am about to buy an '05 Rubicon, and I am definatly going to buy whatever it takes to spin all 4. I was also wondering if anyone has bought the detroit locker/unlocker kit from Highlifter.com

I believe those are two different things, an unlocker for the front drive shaft and a locker for the front differential. may be wrong though.
I do know the un-locker disconnects the front drive shaft letting it spin free.

I dont know about the rubicon, but the rubicon has a really nice 4x4 system, wen im in like little snow and i punch the gas, all 4 wheels spin heavily, I dont know why, i thought it was limited slip 4x4, but i guess its not. I know for the wolverine you can get a LOCKER/UNLOCKER. I was wondering if it only locks like the limited slip (not lock but puts it in and unlocks the 4x4. I am wondering because I am oging to buy it soon for my confirmation present.

The Highlifter Unlocker is basically the same concept as the Warn 424. It is generally agreed that while the Highlifter model is well-made, the Warn 424 is the preferred model. It allows a full-time fourwheel drive quad to operate in 2wd. The Detroit Gearless Locker allows true 4 wheel drive. Quads w/o a manual diff locker will often times operate in 3 wheel drive. The locker is a great aid when operating in mud or other unstable terrain but is somewhat tricky to install due to necessary machine work, etc.

No, there two seperate things. THe Unlocker takes the place of your front propeller shaft (drive shaft) and the Detroit Locker fits with in your front differential.

Oh you're looking at the package with both. They're also available individually. http://www.highlifter.com/store/detroitlocker.html and http://www.highlifter.com/store/unlocker.html
