I can't decide which one to buy. I do all trail and thick woods riding, so I kinda like reverse, but I also want power for hills and mud. I have a 200sx now and I need something faster with more power. Will the 300 be enough for me?

I also do mostly woods riding, and I was faced with the same dilemma 6 months ago... I was pretty settled on the 300EX for quite a while (because it was cheaper and had reverse), but then at the end I decided to get the 400EX. Now that I look back I'm REALLY glad I got the 400. I thought the power was going to be too much for me to handle, but after riding it a couple weeks I had it under control no problem, and was already looking into getting a little MORE power! I think that, if I had gotten the 300, I would have regretted it in a short while, since I'd be wanting much more power, and you can only get so much out of a 300cc engine. Hope this helps. BTW, I was concerned about reverse also, but to tell you the truth, I don't miss it one bit. You just get used to not having it, and don't get yourself in a position where you'll need it.

I agree with Motorhead. I bought a 400EX with mostly trailriding in mind. I got the 400 because I thought I would want the power for hills and the occasional drag race. This was and still is my first 4wheeler. If you are worried about the 400 being to much power dont worry. You will get used to it very fast. And you dont need reverse. The 400 will turn a doughnut quicker than you can try to find reverse on a 300 and in the same to less amount of space.

I like my 300ex.

You can only use so much power. I've never been in a situtation where i've wanted more power than my 300ex gives me.

If you are on a budget you won't regret the 300ex. Unlimited funds? go for the 400

you can't go wrong

Once you try to get a 300 into reverse, you'll find that you would rather push it backwards anyway. 26 HP too much??? You're kidding, right?

I would go with the 400EX. I own one and plan on keeping it for a long time.I do woods and sand riding. Plenty of power! Reverse would be nice but dont really need it. 400EX stock

no 26 isn't too much for the money its not worth it to me.

Tonight i was putting my front wheels against this bank that is almost straight up and down, easing out on the clutch and pulling right up it.

As for reverse, its simple to get in..I don't see what the fuss is about! Just reach down and grab the darn thing..!

Polaris is the only one with a truly simple reverse set up

If money is not the issue, and REVERSE (who needs reverse?) isn't a big deal, go with the 400EX.

I ride with a lot of people who have 300's. When I let them test ride the 400, they are somewhat disappointed with their machine afterwards.

I have had the opportunity to ride both. Besides reverse, the 400 is my choice.
