Talk to a dealer the other day. He said their rep was in and mentioned a 650 AND a 800 Outlander will be available in June. There was also talk of a 400-450 sport machine coming out in the future. Not sure when. Either way, it's not soon enough.

Next year I was planning on getting a 450R, but I might toss that idea if Bombarider throws itself into the mix.

I was at my dealer last saturday. He heard the same rumors we have all been talking about. A twin 400 or 450two stroke with alum. frame. Also said he heard about ds800 with efi. I hope brp does this. They could revolutionize the atv world. I've been thinking of adding a trx450r to the collection too. I'm gonna wait and see what bomb does first.

I bet the 800EFI will be the motor they put in the Outlander and also do a sport quad version, but it will be CVT. That would be a DS style ATV with an 800 EFI CVT. It should beat the Kawasaki 700 easily.

I also think the DS will return, but maybe as a DS720 EFI.

I don't have any predictions about a smaller sport quad.

If they build a DS800 with a CVT transmission, then they can just keep it. I've already owned a KFX700 and have no plans for another CVT based sport quad. So if Bombardier is building something new, then give us something serious that works for racing. They can keep the "cruiser" sport quads.

i agree with desertviper. if they make the ds a cvt 800 they can keep it. put the 800 v-twin with manual trans in a lightened ds frame and i will buy one. period. i am very interested in a 450 size bike. two stroke/four stroke-whatever. if its making 70hp stock it will rule the tracks.

If they use the Aprilia 450, then it will have 60 hp at the most. This motor is being used in Aprilia's SXV4.5 and RXV4.5 bikes. They also have a 550 version that does produce the 70 hp.

But I do have to question who will get this motor first, Can-Am or Arctic Cat.

Aprilia is partly or mostly owned by Piaggio if I'm not mistaken. Arctic Cat and Piaggio announced earlier in the year that they agreed to a partnership of sorts to release a street legal ATV in Europe. It's been a while since I've seen it, so if anyone can set me straight, please do.
