Im 6'2 225 looking to buy a quad for racing my friends trail ridding mostly they are all good bikes im just wondering wat your opinions are thanks allot

 

Racing=YFZ 450 (You'll fit my dad is 6'4" 220)
Trail= Pred (if not an 05' then rappy because reverse
A bit of both=TRX
Best all around=Z 400
JMO and this is stock vs stock

It is an agonizing decision. I ultimately ended up getting the TLD Predator (just yesterday). Start off with knowing what you want. For me I had to have electric start and reverse. Then start narrowing down what you don't like. Raptor is top heavy with a narrower wheelbase. Predator is physically heavier. You can factor in everything from looks to fuel capacity. Ultimately, I chose the TRD Predator for the fact that there is some great extras that you get in a stock machine. The Fox shocks with resevoir. The Maxx tires.

Honestly, I'm sure you'll be very happy with any machine you choose.

 

From what i've been hearing latley the predator is becoming the premier trail bike.

Plus i have always liked the way Polaris has the special edition stuff once in a while.

I have the Raptor, it is a lil tippy. But you get used to that fast and adjust. I love it, it flys, goes anywhere and everywhere even in snow (in boston we have had around 2 feet for a while now). I just got it a month ago and it is my first quad. I agree with the other guy, tou'll be happy with whatever you get.

 

I own a Z and love it. But maybe for your size, the Pred would be a bit better. Definitely get the Troy Lee because it have great options straight from the factory. I was comfortable on it, it handled great and had plenty of power. I'm 6'2, but only 155, so the Z flies me around fine. For you... TLD Pred!

I'd rather get a Raptor over a Polaris. My friend just bought an 05 Predator a few months ago and it already blew up! He knows how to ride too, he had a z-400 before it and nothinge ver happened to it.

The reasons Id get a Raptor would be because it is a Yamaha, not a Polaris. Bigger, more power, weighs less, etc. It will probably beat a stock Predator in a race too. Add a pipe to the Raptor and everything has troubles keeping up with it, except for the 450's.


So, personally, I think you should go for a Raptor.

 

If i were you i would go with a predator cause now they have rev. They are Faster than YFZ and they have ALOT of power. Im really not a Polairs Fan but they really did good on it.
