Hpd Jetting question
#1
Hey guys,
I bought an HPD pipe, airbox mod, clutch kit and team secondary from RCR and had the jets from the airbox mod installed yesterday. I have just realized that the Hatfield and MCcoy trail sys does not allow pipes without spark arrestors. We are going in 2 weeks. Can I put the stock pipe back on without rejetting? I am keeping the airbox mod and clutch kits on. I am not going to get a chance to ride it before we go. also, they say the clutch kit is adjustable- how do I adjust it and how do I know if it needs to be adjusted?
Thanks in advance.

I do believe you can mount your old muffler onto the pipe. I just ordered a new pipe and I asked Rick about a spark arrestor for my bike because I am going to Hatfield and McCoys in May. He told me to take the silencer off the pipe I buy from him and use my old muffler. Try this first before you go rejetting

I have a 400 scrammy with a HPD pipe and I use the stock spark arrestor. I have pics of it on my page. You can adjust your primary clutch with different weights and spring for different shift out rpm points and engagement rpm. I would use what ever primary spring and weights Rick sends you. I don't know anything about the team secondary clutch but I have heard good things about it. If you have any questions don't be afraid to give Rick a call. He has always been happy to answer any question I have ever asked. Good luck with your mods and I hope you have a great time at the Hatfield-McCoy trails. Let us know how the trip went, when you get back.

your 500 should be fine with the clutch the way it is, the 400 is alot diff. the clutch needs to match the intake and exhaust to get the best results. The 500 is a 4 stroke and its not as important to reclutch because of the change in exhaust.
